Everybody talks about how we will have to look for ways to grow more and more food for our ever expanding population, they never mention that we could also do many things to prevent the population from expanding out of control. A way of helping to make our future on Earth secure, is stop the population growing out of control and make the quality of life better for everyone. All the charities for health research, fuel conservation, pollution prevention and new technologies are vital but if we have to compete for space with each other, none of them will save us. Our planet is limited we need to learn to live in harmony with it and this means not over populating it. Your donation will help us all to a secure future. 

I thought of doing this challenge because a few years ago I came to a turning point in my life, after never really knowing what I wanted to do, I let my imagination run away with me and I discovered that the one thing that kept coming back to my mind was that  I wanted to travel to wild places and spend time away from everything and wanted to spend quality time with horse. So I decided to ride from my home near Hereford for 6 weeks heading north to see if I could reach Scotland's wild places. After years of preparation I am finally ready. We will go in May 2010, I am also taking a pack pony, my dog and my partner. We will be camping along the way getting away from it all.

Then I thought I could raise money for charity using this challenge so I chose to help the Optimum Population Trust 'OPT' as I feel that their work is the only way to a better future and will solve all the problems the human race has inflicted on itself.
