Reader, I did it! At 9:30am on Sunday 25th April, wearing a harness, orange helmet, gardening gloves* and flared jeans tucked fetchingly into my socks, I went over the edge of the top of Guy's Tower (469ft up in the air) and abseiled down and - here's the clever bit - managed not to die!
I signed up for a laugh and to raise some much-needed cash for this wonderful charity, but I must admit, it was 100 times more petrifying than I ever imagined. Thank you so much to everyone who's donated and to my little entourage who cheered me on on the day.
Guy's and St Thomas' Kidney Patients Association fund life-saving research, support patients and carers and patient facilities. What they do is so important, so essential to people facing debilitating kidney disease, that I hope you can help me reach above my target and raise as much money as possible for them.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
THANK YOU.
*well, that's what they looked like
