Event: Deloitte Ride Across Britain 2011, on 19 June 2011
We prepare the ParalympicsGB team to help their success inspire the nation

Story

In a moment of madness after joining Deloitte in the summer I decided to enter the ballot for a relay place in the Ride Across Britain - 953 miles in 9 days from John O'Groats to Lands End......

Given my limited (read complete lack) of cycling experience this could be seen as foolhardy but having heard more about the charity we are supporting and met my team mates there's no turning back.

This will be the 2nd Ride Across Britain event that Deloitte have been involved in and we are well on our way to raising £1million for ParalympicsGB by 2013.

While I won't have to cycle the whole 950 miles I will have to commit to up to 70 miles a day as part of my relay team.  Just to make life a little harder (and due to some poor diary management on my part) I also signed up for the edinburgh marathon and a half marathon in chamonix either side of the RAB.

One event in and I'm still in one piece - now for the cycling......

I have attached a link to the Deloitte RAB page where you can learn more about what we are doing and our chosen charity and the great work they do supporting athletes through the Paralympic Games.  We hope to be able to provide them with the funding to ensure that our GB atheletes perform as well as they can.

Any contribution that you can make to sponsor me in this event would be much appreciated.  I can promise that it will be well earnt as I will have to work hard to get through this.  Those of you who have seen me cycling up hills will vouch for that!
