Woking & Sam Beare Hospice is a charity that delivers specialist palliative care to adult patients of all ages who have life-limiting and terminal illnesses in the North West Surrey region, providing free of charge holistic care and support services both in our hospice and in homes.

Story

Woking High School will be supporting Woking & Sam Beare Hospices as their major charity for this academic year. The school has always been proud to partner charities within their local community and believe the core values of the hospice, which focus on the highly personal, holistic approach to care, is something that they, as a school, try to emulate in their commitment to supporting all their students. In May 2014 they unfortunately lost one of their Pastoral Co-ordinators, Mrs Carrie Thomson to cancer after a 19 month fight with the disease. Woking Hospice provided Carrie and her family with outstanding support, care and kindness in her final weeks. Woking Hospice relies almost exclusively on voluntary donations. As a school they are proud to do all that they can to help them in providing invaluable care in our community.
