My airline tickets and the tour have been paid in full.  I am thrilled to have the opportunity to visit Nepal on October 1 - 15 2010 for the  ISIS Trek for Kids AND to raise funds for The ISIS Foundation with the team for Kathmandu Kids Club.   Along with my  team members, I have been training hard to prepare for our goal of completing a grueling 8 day trek through the high altitude, remote and rugged region of Humla in northwestern Nepal where The ISIS Foundation supports projects benefitting Nepali women and children in serious need. I hope you can contribute whatever you can to this worthy cause. It will really help the Nepali women and children.

Our team's goal is raise a total of  $200,000 in sponsorship to support the work of The ISIS Foundation.  In Humla communities so remote that the nearest road is a 21 day walk, The ISIS Foundation supports projects that deliver clean water, solar light, smokeless stoves and sanitary latrines to remote villages, provides local traveling doctors services to thousands who would otherwise not receive medical care, and  develops educational resources such as teacher training and housing as well as initiatives to encourage families to enroll their children particularly girls in school.   In the capital, Kathmandu, The ISIS Foundation raises and educates in safe and supportive group homes 139 formerly trafficked and abandoned children and youth.  Since every dollar/pound goes so far in Nepal, your donation can produce enormous positive impact.  For example, one 50kg bag of cement that can build three sanitary pit latrines ensuring families clean water, costs approximately 35 GBP.  One full year’s salary for a tertiary qualified school teacher to work at a community school, costs approximately 1,092 GBP.
