Story
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have set up this page as I have been fortunate enough to be asked to spend 3 weeks with fellow cyclists riding around France on the route of the Great race.
I will be riding the route 3 days ahead from Wednesday 30th to Thursday July 22th 2010, the 97th Tour de France will be made up of 1 prologue and 20 stages and will cover a total distance of 3,600 kilometres.
These stages have the following profiles:
- 1 prologue,
- 9 flat stages,
- 6 mountain stages and 3 summit finishes,
- 4 medium mountain stages,
- 1 individual time-trial stage (51 km).
- 23 level 1, level 2 and highest level mountain passes.
Clearly this will not be easy and so I thought to myself, after my ups and downs over the last couple of years and the great help the Royal British Legion (RBL) have provided me and the assistance, especially from my local branch (Thatcham) it would be a great way to help give a little back.
Some of you will be able to give a little, hopefully a few will be able to give A LOT!! How much can we raise? I have put £5000 but if we can do more then that would be fantastic.
So please everyone, give as much as you can afford. Here is a link to my blog : http://sowhere2next.wordpress.com/
I will post updates and other information each day or so during the ride. My twitter page is www.twitter.com/so_where_2_next
So on behalf of the RBL, Many thanks and rest assured you are helping to ensure serving and ex service personal are helped when they need it most.
Warmest regards
Steve M
