We raise vital funds to support children's hospice at home care.

Story

Pepper supports 6 specialist Pepper nurses who provide 'at-home' care for children with life-limiting or terminal illnesses. Our Pepper nurses care for 40 children locally and it costs £135 to provide every day of care for each nurse. Our Pepper nurses also provide support and comfort for the childrens' families. Elaine, Laura and I are committed to Pepper and to helping to support the the real difference the Pepper nurses make to the very short lives of the children they care for.

It's not the natural order of things and if I can do something to make it easier, if only for a day or so, then I want to do that.....please help the kids and their families by sponsoring me with cost of your next cup of coffee - thanks.

With no government funding the task of raising the required finance every year is incredibly difficult. To help out I'm doing a series of events of torture and hopefully some pleasure :-).  In September, at 60, with a fused together backbone, an incurable lung disease, sinusitis and no sense whatsoever....:-) I'm going to climb the whole 20,000 feet of Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa after climbing the 15,000 feet of Mt Meru a few days before as practice! Kilimanjaro is the highest free standing mountain in the world. After an Autumn of ill health I've started my training now and I'm already excited about the adventure. To get ready for it I'm training with British Military Fitness in Cassiobury Park, running along the Grand Union Canal and hill walking along the Chilterns. Mad or what!!!

If your family or charity budget can afford the price of a coffee, please consider donating to my endeavors. If you cannot do that then please lend me your moral support.

For those interested, I will organise a Blog of the trip and post photos onto Flickr, Facebook or Twitter so you can see how we are doing.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

The Pepper Foundation funds Hospice at Home care for children in Bucks and Herts. We believe that during this terribly frightening and difficult time, children and their families should be given the choice to be cared for at home, surrounded by the people and belongings they love.
