Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
From 24 May 2026, I will be aiming to hike the twelfth stage of my Camino de Santiago, covering 229.6 km (142.6 miles) over 10 days, from Burgos to Astorga, in the Castilla y León region of northern Spain.
Having already walked 1,740 km (1,080 miles) of the Camino de Santiago since taking my first step in June 2019, this section will take my total to 1,970 km. It’s a journey that has led me from the foothills of the French Pyrenees, across Spain to Santiago de Compostela, and on to the northern Portuguese city of Porto.
My mother, Muriel Taylor, was born in Liverpool in 1928 and died of Alzheimer's Disease on 1 March 2022. Therefore, I thought it would be good to provide the opportunity for people to support the Alzheimer's Society, a charity that focuses on researching a disease that takes the lives of so many people.
If you would like to donate to a very deserving cause, I would appreciate it very much.
I will be posting daily updates on Facebook:

before sharing these reflections on my Camino de Santiago blog:

All donations will go directly to the charity, with none of the money whatsoever helping to fund my trip.
Thank you
Steve Taylor
