At Activity Alliance, we believe that everyone belongs in sport and physical activity. Yet, disabled people remain the least active in our society. Our strategy, We All Belong, drives meaningful change by tackling the biggest challenges disabled people face when trying to be active in sport.

Story

Thanks for visiting - now stop laughing for a moment...

Lets face it, I'm not exactly a natural long distance runner. At 6ft 3in and 115kg I am much better suited to the second row than I am to the (apparent) delights of a feat which did for the original (and no doubt infinitely fitter) runner centuries ago!

Nonetheless, it is a challenge and if you know me well - you know that I like those. I have done a few demanding physical challenges in my time (3 attempts at Mount Cook!)  but if I am completely honest - this will be by far the most difficult I have got myself into. I do not expect to set the world alight doing this - finishing will be a personal battle.

As such, you might ask why I am doing this. The answer to that I am sure will be different from runner to runner. For most though, it is the desire to test our personal limits in search of how far we can go. The avenue of testing is limited only by our own imaginations, fear thresholds, and financial resources - thats where you come in...

What I certainly lack in natural running talent - I will be sure to make up for in heart, determination and bl**dy mindedness. This will be no way easy for me, but I am ready to push myself to my limit in order to raise money for Disability Sport in order for them to continue their sterling work in developing sport for disabled people.

I am willing to give it my all - please give what you can.

PS. As a bit of fun, I am offering to allow the highest single sponsor to choose my 'outfit' that I will run in. Whether it is to be dressed as Papa Smurf or a full France Football kit (a fate worse than death after recent events!)  - whatever the highest 'bidder' chooses, (within reason of course) thats what I'll have on on the day. Naturally, I have set the bar nice and high - you have got to really want it!
