This September I’ll be taking on the biggest physical challenge of my life, as I cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats; covering 975 miles over 9 days and camping every night! Over the course of the ride, we will be climbing nearly 52,000 feet, which is approximately twice the height of Everest!

There are fifteen of us taking on this challenge and we’re trying to raise as much money as we can for Meningitis Research Foundation. We’ve chosen to support this charity because of how closely the disease has affected some members of our team.

Toby, my very good friend, who used his charm to get us all to sign up for this crazy challenge, has a son Monty, who fought and beat meningitis, but continually faces challenges as a result. My niece and goddaughter Lydia also battled with the disease as a little girl. She is now a beautiful young lady, but lives with daily reminders & scars of her illness. And Jon, another member of our team, sadly lost his daughter Lucie to meningitis in 2010, at just 16 days old.
