Cancer, or its effects, is something we are all touched by sooner or later. A diagnosis, no matter how serious is a devastating blow not only to the person concerned but family friends and colleagues. Apart from having to cope with the effects of medication and treatment there is the psychological and emotional aspects to have to come to terms with. Penny Brohn Cancer Care centre is a safe haven in which everyone can get support  and knowledge to help you make life enhancing changes and cope with the day to day trials of living with this disease. I have visited this centre on a number of occasions and spoken to and heard from people who have used the centre. They have felt stronger and better equipped to fight the challenges of their disease or support those who need their strength. The Penny Brohn Cancer Care centre really does and can make a difference. Like everything the provision of their services are expensive and therefore those availing of them are asked to make a contribution. Whilst they look to keep costs to a minimum it is not always in the reach of those who could benefit and their aim therefore is to try and become self sufficient enough to offer their services free of charge. They have numerous fundraising projects on the go and I would urge you to please visit their website and see what they do. In the meantime you could help Peter and I to help them by sponsoring us. We have registered with their team to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in September. This is a real challenge to us and not for the faint hearted. Training has begun in earnest and will get more intense month on month! We are required to raise a minimum amount of sponsorship each and you can see the target we need to achieve. Please be as generous as you can and help us raise this incredible sum of money to support the work of the Penny Brohn Cancer Care centre.
