Being a keen runner it is has been a lifelong ambition to run the "Daddy" of marathons, The London Marathon.  I only intend to do one, (if my body allows me) and the London Marathon is the only Marathon that I want to do.

I have tried to get in through the ballot for 5 years without success, I guess that it was karma's way of saying "it's not your time, you don't have a reason or cause to run for".

This changed throughout the course of 2012.

I have seen 3 families have thier hearts ripped out by losing loved ones so very, very cruelly way before thier time through cancer. Sons and Daughters have lost Fathers, Wives have lost Husbands, Sons have lost Mothers.

At the time I wanted to help in some way, but what could I do apart from offer support and only imagine what pain they must be going through.  

But now I can do something.........

Around this very difficult time my application for the 2013 London Marathon was in the general ballot. Out of 100,000 entries for 20,000 places, my chances of getting in were slim.  

Something was very, very different this time though. I had a cause to run.  I believed that I was going to get in through the Ballot, to run in the memory of those so cruely taken from loved ones and also to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support. So when I recieved my entry confirmation I was not at all surprised. I knew I was getting a place.

Karma is saying "It's your turn Steve, you have a reason, cause and motivation to run"

People that know me know that when when I commit to something I see it through whatever the cost. Training for and Running the London Marathon is the easy part. Where I really, really, really need assistance is through raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.  

So, please, please support this great cause and dig deep. No amout of money is too small and no amount of money is too great.
