Story
Here we go again!
For those that know me yes, I know I said for the last time last time but I'm going to be taking part once again (the 3rd and really, I promise the last time) in next year’s 350-mile Big Battlefield Bike Ride (BBBR) 2019 on the 9th June to raise money for Help for Heroes.
I'm going to play sympathy card here as I will be 60 by the time I'm taking part in this cycle ride so the 'old boy' needs extra encouragement and support through extra donations.
What is the Big Battlefield Bike Ride?
For over a decade, the Big Battlefield Bike Ride has used sheer pedal-power to raise funds in support of wounded, injured and sick Veterans, Service Personnel and their families.
Next year we will be cycling from the beaches of Normandy and onto Paris, commemorating 75 years since the D Day landings. It will be our opportunity to pay respects to the Heroes of the past whilst supporting our Heroes of today.
Cycling around 70 miles a day we will retrace the steps of the brave souls who fought to keep us safe and discover their poignant history. What better way to honour the incredible commitment, dedication and bravery of our Armed Forces, both past and present.
Where does your donation go?
I would encourage you to read more about the Help for Heroes charity by following the link on this page.
I’m hoping next year I can always use my brakes to stop my bike unlike the last BBBR ride where instead I used my face on one occasion. Not advisable I can assure you but knowing the support I had from everyone saw me through.
Could I please convince you just this one last time (my legs won’t hold
out for a fourth term) to donate to this extraordinary charity and my challenge.
Any contribution, big or small, will be greatly appreciated.
