Story

From the 19th - 28th of September I will be taking a quick stroll up a big hill.  A very big hill.

Thanks for visiting my fund raising page.  As you have no doubt noticed is that I'm planning to climb Kilimanjaro in aid of ACE Africa.

ACE Africa is a fantastic charity, run by a small but dedicated team who work tirelessly to provide help and resources to where it really needed.  I don't want to just copy and paste their information off their website, so I strongly urge you to have a look at http://www.ace-africa.org  get a feel for what they are doing.  All I can say is that they work closely with specific communities, which this means that any support we can provide has a direct impact into that community.  What you donate will make a difference.

As there is so much stuff to add, I thought I would do it in an FAQ style below.

Thanks

Steve

F.A.Q:

Q.         That caption in the photos says you are walking up this.  Are you referring to the mountain or the giraffe?

A.         I will be attempting to walk up a giraffe on my next fundraising event. It requires more altitude training.

Q.         How high is Kilimanjaro?

A.          5,896m, that’s 2644 times taller than Andre the Giant.

Q.         Is it true you won't suffer altitude sickness because you are short?

A.          I hate you.

Q.         Is anything we donate helping you get there?

A.         No.  Everything you donate will go to charity. Everything else is self funded.

Q.      I have no money; can I send my best wishes?

A.      Of course! But don't forget, Cash Generators can always help.

Q.         Steve, you are lazy.  How did you get roped into doing this?

A.         As with most things, it started on a hung-over Saturday morning....

"Beep Beep"....... *Groan*.
