As of 19th December I'm 51% of the way towards my target. I'm about to launch a final push for that last 49%, so your generosity at this point is an invaluable help towards that goal. I accomplished the not-insignificant feat of doing the 24-hour meditation marathon last week. Certainly I can say it was immensely rewarding on a personal level, and I’m also very gratified to see, through the generosity of my friends, the amount raised still climbing towards my target. I hope you’ll be so kind as to sponsor my noble effort. ‘Noble’, I feel I can say, because in the East, where much of the philosophy behind meditation originated from, this is seen as a valuable spiritual exercise, indeed a communication with the divine, or essential principle. And this is very much the spirit in which I and the hundreds of others around the world who took part approached it. This understanding is very much the bedrock of the work of EnlightenNext, the charity I am raising money for. At the same time, they are going a step further, an important step; which is to say, how does that enlightened awareness, which we could describe as a state of going beyond ego, translate into action in the world, into the relationships we form with one another? And not just to ask the questions, but to put that into practice. I could go on to say more, but suffice to say I really do feel this organisation, which I’ve enthusiastically supported over almost twenty-five years, is genuinely releasing new potentials in a unique way that is of immense benefit to us all.
