Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer
or blood disorder. One of them, Mike Brandon, is related to my mother's
next-door neighbour. The campaign to find a donor for Mike inspired me
to get involved with supporting the charity.
I've got collection boxes dotted across South Wales; we had a fundraising gig in July; now this is the latest project. We're going to walk the 25 km from Penderyn to Abercynon, mainly along the Cynon Trail (but making a brief detour off the A4059). With a couple of pub stops en route, it should be a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
