The Steve Prescott Foundation was set up by a totally inspirational man Steve Prescott MBE. In 2006 he was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei a terminal cancer & sought out to raise funds for The Christie Hospital and the Rugby League Benevolent Fund. The SPF changes the lives of so many people.

He underwent an Emergency Operation in Basingstoke Hospital and a tumour was removed from&nbsp;my Stomach. </span></span></p> <p class="MsoSubtitle" style="text-align: left; margin: 0cm 0cm 3pt;"><span style="font-family: Cambria; font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p class="MsoSubtitle" style="text-align: left; margin: 0cm 0cm 3pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Cambria;">The Steve Prescott Fund was formed immediately by a group of Rugby League Supporters they raised money for Steve and my family so Steve could concentrate on his battle against Cancer. Over the next year&nbsp;I defied medical experts and managed to build myself up to&nbsp;my rugby playing weight by spending hours in Gym.</span></span></p> <p class="MsoSubtitle" style="text-align: left; margin: 0cm 0cm 3pt;"><span style="font-family: Cambria; font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p class="MsoSubtitle" style="text-align: left; margin: 0cm 0cm 3pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Cambria;">At a Wigan v Saints Charity Supporters match in August 2007 for Christies Hospital Manchester&nbsp;I was invited to be the Guest of Honour, it was decided in a conversation between&nbsp;Martin Blondel&nbsp;and I that we would start to raise money for the two organisations that had supported&nbsp;me throughout&nbsp;my ordeal Christies and the RFL Benevolent Fund. The Steve Prescott Fund was ceased and the Steve Prescott Foundation created</span></span></p> <p class="MsoSubtitle" style="text-align: left; margin: 0cm 0cm 3pt;"><span style="font-family: Cambria; font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p class="MsoSubtitle" style="text-align: left; margin: 0cm 0cm 3pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"></span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Cambria;">The Long Walk Home was the first Event organised for the Foundation, it was 200 mile walk involving all the Super League Clubs within the M62 Corridor, it was a huge success &pound;60,000 was raised, since then the Foundation has expanded and at the moment we have given over &pound;200,000 to the Charities with a wide range of events from Rugby Legends Boxing each other to Steve completing the London Marathon plus the highly successful Carnegie Challenge which entailed a 900 mile bike ride from Catalans <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp;</span>(Perpignan), 26 Mile Dragon Boat down the Thames and Half Marathon run into Wembley to deliver the Carnegie Challenge Cup Final Ball in time for the Kick Off.</span></span></p> <p class="MsoSubtitle" style="text-align: left; margin: 0cm 0cm 3pt;"><span style="font-family: Cambria; font-size: small;">I am&nbsp;at the moment is still undergoing intense Chemotherapy but this does not stop&nbsp;me from trying impossible feats,&nbsp;i pushes&nbsp;my body to the limits.</span><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; color: #333333; font-size: 8.5pt; mso-ansi-language: EN;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoSubtitle" style="text-align: left; margin: 0cm 0cm 3pt;"><span style="font-family: Cambria; font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p class="MsoSubtitle" style="text-align: left; margin: 0cm 0cm 3pt;"><span style="font-family: Cambria;"><span style="font-size: small;">In 2010&nbsp;I was awarded the MBE for his services to Rugby League and Charity.</span></span></p> <p class="MsoSubtitle" style="text-align: left; margin: 0cm 0cm 3pt;"><span style="font-family: Cambria;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">My&nbsp;next event is the Engage Mutual End to End Extreme Challenge starting on the 4<sup>th</sup> June. This consists of Cycling from Lands End To John O&rsquo;Groats and climbing the National Three Peaks Snowdon, Scafell &amp; Ben Nevis.
