Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

Hi I cannot believe that on the 22nd feb 2013 i will be climbing mount killimanjaro in Tanzania for the RSPCA and to help with animal welfare, wow!! It will be the most amazing challenge. I am so proud and exited that I am going to be doing this with 14 of my colleagues to help raise money that is badly needed and that will help continue the great work done by the society. I am also aware that this will be the hardest challenge I have ever faced.

I will have been with the RSPCA for 20yrs when I start the trek and never thought when I began as a van driver for the Woodside Animal shelter in Leicester all those years ago that my journey would bring me so far. After a fantastic 6 yrs with the shelter, working with some of the most caring people I have ever met. I started with the RSPCA inspectorate as an Animal collection and rescue officer, helping animals in my area of Leicester/Northants that are trapped or injured and it has turned out to be the most Rewarding job I have ever had and to this day i am still a very proud and dedicated member of one of the most amazing charity's.

Attending a fox call where it has got itself trapped in fencing, or going to a swan that is tangled in fishing line. Rescuing a bird from a chimney or a cat up a tree, A dog, cat, badger, deer etc. injured in RTA.'S or a horse that has fallen in the river are just a few examples of the everyday calls that we respond to, getting them treated by the vets and giving them the best chance for recovery. Being able to release an animal back to the wild after treatment and a full recovery is just the most rewarding and amazing feelings ever.

During my time with the society I have been trained as a swift water technician, and belong a large group of flood rescue staff that turn out to rescue animals in flood situations or to help water birds in local rivers and reservoirs. We were all involved in the floods last year in Cumbria and managed to help many animals from terrible situations in flooded areas including a massive recue of 150+ sheep from rising flood water, and we managed to move them all to safer and higher ground.

Over the last 6yrs and many courses I have been involved in training staff in the society boats to insure safe and professional rescues on locals waters, and am one of the national trainers for the society .

Well that's just a bit about my work, and along with the hard working inspectors who have to deal with the cruelty and animal welfare matters it makes for a very busy and much needed service. PLEASE HELP and donate whatever you can. I have a target of £4000 and if you are able to donate to this great cause then any amount great or small will be fantastic. The RSPCA receives no government funding and relies totally on donations to survive. I thank you all in anticipation from the bottom of my heart. THANKYOU.
