London to Brighton MTB ride · 24 September 2016
Two years ago Matt Ford gave me £50, as he did with all the sponsors for The Poole Pirates speedway team, with the £50 I was told to do what I wanted with it but with the premise of getting a good return on the £50.. So with that in mind I asked a few (12 ) close friends, some not so close to do a sponsored bike ride, which turned out to be a race on a bike, in fancy dress.. It was a short 14 mile ride from my offices in Springbourne to Poole Civic Centre and back along the beach front to my offices. The race was good fun for all those that took part and the money we raised was outstanding, just over £6,000 for a bunch of unfit blokes..
Two years later and here we are again, same £50, same great charity.. Just a few more miles, quite a few to be fair. I have managed to get 14 blokes including myself to do the London to Brighton MTB ride.. Its 75 miles, with a few extra thrown in as we have to ride from the station to the start line..! Been told its an easy ride, just 3 hills, been told its a killer.. Whatever it is its all for a great cause.. So please ladies, gents boys and girls, dig deep and sponsor us, its a team page, the grand total going to Julia's House, the rider with the most money raised will be doing the ride in fancy dress.!!
