<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 14.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;; color: #1c1c1c;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 14.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;; color: #1c1c1c;">So, on the 18th September, I've been tricked into doing a triathlon in Croatia in fancy dress by a group of friends who ganged up on me (but didn't let me know that it was a group effort), knowing that I might not be able to say 'no' to trying to raise some money for charity. As a result I'm looking for 100 people to sponsor me £10 to do a triathlon in Split, which consists of a 1km swim, a 100km bike and a 10km run. As an event, I realise that it's not particularly long as some triathlons go, and I would have been doing it anyway. Unfortunately, the outfit they're suggested I do it in is... erm... a little old skool as triathlons go, based on a former world Ironman champion called Faris Al Sultan. It consists of me trying to grow a beard (I had to start two weeks ago), wearing a bandana and doing the event in speedos and a crop top. Not only is there potential for MUCH embarrassment, but also some (hopefully only short term) damage to the nether regions. I've attached a photo of what the outfit might look like (with a hope that it doesn't stop you from reading any further)... </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 14.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;; color: #1c1c1c;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 14.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;; color: #1c1c1c;">The charity that I am fundraising for is called 'Keep a Child Alive' (<a href="http://keepachildalive.org/">http://keepachildalive.org</a>) which is dedicated to providing ante-retroviral treatment and care to people infected with HIV, and the families affected by AIDS, in Africa. It's an issue which is close to my heart and has been a big motivation and drive in my working life since leaving Uni. A good friend is an advisor to the charity as well, which adds a bit of legitimacy from my perspective.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 14.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;; color: #1c1c1c;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 14.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;; color: #1c1c1c;">However, another BIG reason for doing this is that my best mate, Danny Bent, is launching an unsalaried initiative called 1111 which aims to raise £1million for the charity over the next year through recruiting 1000 'warriers' to organise an event or take part in an event, and find 100 friends each to sponsor them £10 for doing it. I'm being the first guinea pig warrier to see whether it works or not, so it'd be great to get it started well. He is using justgiving to provide a secure, trusted avenue through which to collect the money, and if you do donate, the thank you message will come from him. There will be more information coming on the following website shortly: <a href="http://www.oneoneoneone.org/">www.oneoneoneone.org</a></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 14.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;; color: #1c1c1c;"> </span></p>
