We are bravely (or stupidly) taking part in the Helly Hansen challenger which takes place on 6th December 2009.  Basically it's a triathlon with a difference. It consists of 10km of road running, 25km off road cycling and 1.5km of canoeing. The twists are, on the run there will be obstacles such as walls and commando nets to get over and we have to stay together as a team. Also each discipline can/will be split into different orders as we go and we won't know the order until we arrive on the start line. Then of course there's the weather. I'm sure the temperature will be near zero and with all the rain we've had most of the course will be under water!

 

The event is being done for charity but we thought we would raise some money to support a cause very close to my heart.  We will be raising money for the Berkshire Cancer Centre based at The Royal Berkshire Hospital.  This charity has been chosen as it was where my wife (Vicky) has been receiving superb treatment for breast cancer for the last two years and I wanted to give something back.
