Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know, my eldest step-son, Ross, has fragile X, the most common form of inherited learning disability. It impacts around 14,000 individuals and their families in the UK alone.
In my spare time (!) I chair the Fragile X Society that supports families affected by fragile X (http://www.fragilex.org.uk) . It provides vital support to families that just isn't available elsewhere.
Small charities are being hit very hard in the economic downturn and we need to raise £40,000 extra this year just to maintain our services.
So, on Sunday 30 August, many of us are going to "Run the World for fragile X". In fact we will run, walk and crawl! And we will do it on different days around the date as it suits people.
My plan is to hike from Stonehaven to Catterline.... unless my back improves enough to let me run 5k....
So please sponsor me. And if you can.... why not do something yourself on 30 August and get your friends sponsor you too?! The more that join in the more services we will be able to provide.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Many thanks from all fragile X families.
Steve
