Brathay Windermere Marathon 2010 · 16 May 2010 ·

BTRC works with a Neurosciences team at Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals (Imperial College London) to promote research into the causes of brain tumours and possible new treatments, to raise public awareness of the desperate need for this research and the current lack of funding.

Story

Hi, and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to attempt to run my first Marathon - the Brathay Windermere Marathon on Sunday 16th May 2010!  The race covers 26.2 miles around the shores of Lake Windermere in the Lake District.

My late father-in-law, Cliff Tinworth, passed away in December after a brave battle with cancer.  It is in his honour, and memory, that I will be running to raise money for the Brain Tumour Research Campaign (BTRC).  The BTRC's vision is...

"...to raise public awareness of the need for brain tumour research and the lack of funding that currently exists by a series of fundraising events and applications for research grants among corporate and medical bodies or trusts..."
