Story

I selected the MCA Trust as my charity when opting to run the Toronto Marathon as there are many personal connections to this charity and the cause itself.

The MCA Trust is named in honour of my late uncle Michael Adams, who was awarded the MBE for his community work and assisting those families in need within his local home region.

The MCA trust itself, primarily focuses on families the have children with cancer, which has also impacted my life and my family in London. At the age of 5 my cousin had undergone two life saving surgeries with brain tumours being removed at the Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital in London.

The one downside to selecting this charity is that those not based in the UK cannot claim any tax benefit. However, I do feel this is justifiable considering the personal attachment to the charity.

So there you have it. On May 6th, I will run 26.2 miles/42.5km to assist those that are in a position none of us would ever hope to find ourselves in.

If you can pass this email on to those friends and family members that you feel would sponsor me, that would be appreciated.

Thanks
