The Prince's Trust Palace to Palace 2016 · 2 October 2016 ·

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

The Prince's Trust helps 13 to 30-year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. Many are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems. The Trust gives vulnerable young people the practical and financial support needed to stabilise their lives, helping them develop self-esteem and skills for work. Last year the Trust helped 56,000 young people turn their lives around.

The Princes Trust relies on donations to support vulnerable young people—I will be helping by riding the more challenging, 90-mile long 'Ultra' variant of the Palace to Palace bike ride.

##The official ride is on 2nd October. Unfortunately on 22nd September I found out I would no longer be able to join the ride *on that day*.

In August I hurt my knee whilst training for the ride. A physiotherapist diagnosed minor ligament tears and we worked on rehabilitation programme. After weeks of no progress I finally had an MRI scan and the true problem became clear. I'm having surgery as soon as possible and will then complete my training and do the ride.

I will be doing the ride alone or with Oracle colleagues (one has just volunteered) in November or December. We will follow the full 2016 Ultra route the rest of the riders will follow on 2nd October, we will just be doing it later.

To the people that sponsored me, I'm sorry I can't do it on 2nd October. I would be if I could but the surgeon refused my request for local anaesthetic due to the damaged caused when the joint is moved. I will still complete the ride and all your donations have already gone directly to the Princes Trust. ##
