<div><span style="color: #000000;"> <div> <div><span style="font-family: Tms Rmn;"><span style="font-family: Tms Rmn;"> </span></span></div> <div> <div> <div>Team Lois are back again, this time round the team consists of Stevie McKenzie, Wayne Paxton, Nicola Ritchie & Iain Robertson.</div> <div>Nicola and Iain have already ran a half marathon (or 3 last year in Iain's case!) to raise money for Westerlea Early Years and some of you very kindly contributed. We also have Liz Mcvie who is running the Edinburgh 10k for the first time, a great achievement for Liz! Your money was well spent by Westerlea who used it to create an outside play area. All the children who attend Wester Lea have benefitted greatly from your support. You can see the garden and a picture of Lois enjoying it on this page.</div> <span style="color: #ff0000; font-family: Tms Rmn;"> <div>This year the team are raising money for a speech class called The ABC Group that Lois has been attending. Children with downs syndrome can find speaking difficult and these classes are a lifeline for children like Lois. The classes include everything from talk tools, exercises to develop the muscles in the children's mouths to help them speak more clearly, to lessons on singing. The classes are fun and involve lots of singing which keeps the children entertained. Since starting the classes Lois has learnt a range of words and signs and her confidence is growing all the time.</div> </span></div> </div> </div> </span></div> <div> <div><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-family: Tms Rmn;"><span style="font-family: Tms Rmn;">Unfortunately there is very little money available from the NHS to give speech therapy to children like Lois so the class is funded by Downs Syndrome Scotland.
