On the 9th October, along with 13 others, I will be flying out to Tanzania to embark on a journey that will begin in Moshi and hopefully, end 6 days later, some 5,895m above sea level on the top of Africa’s highest mountain.

The reason for this uncharacteristic act of adventure is to raise money for Amani Children’s Home.

Amani Children’s Home was established in September 2001 by local Tanzanians to meet the needs of the rapidly growing population of street children in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania. They named the new home “Amani,” which means peace in Swahili.  Since it’s founding, Amani has rescued hundreds of children from the perils of life on the streets, where they face a high risk of HIV transmission, malnutrition and abuse.

The home is dedicated to the protection of Tanzania’s most vulnerable population: street children and AIDS orphans. It is estimated that there are 2.5 million orphaned children in Tanzania. Amani, provides healthy food, education, counseling and medical care for every child who turns to them for help.

Please give what you can to this worthy cause however large or small as every donation counts, £6 would provide a school uniform for one child, £25 provides medical care for an average of 35 children living on the streets and £50 provides 3 healthy meals for all the children at Amani for 1 day.

For more information regarding the great work done at the home please watch the video on this page or click on the following link http://amanikids.org/

I am fully funding the cost of this trip so please be assured that every penny of your donations will go towards making a better life for the children of Amani.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Regards

Steven
