Story
Hello
As you may or may not know I'll be doing the Great North Run this year. I've decided to use the run to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
There are a few reasons why I've decided to run for this charity. My girlfriend Sarah has for the last few years worked as a nurse caring for cancer patients at the Yorkshire Cancer Centre at St. James Hospital in Leeds. Sarah and her fellow nurses really value the services that Marie Curie provide in giving totally free, high quality nursing in the home for people with terminal cancer. I also get to wear a funky, bright yellow running vest.
My former colleague at Government Office, Paul Crossan very generously promised to sponsor me £100 if I complete the run in less than two hours which is a great start to my fund raising. I would be really grateful for any contributions that you could make to help me reach my target of £500.
For every £500 I raise, Marie Curie can pay for over 24 hours of specialised care in the home for a terminal cancer patient.
If I raise £1000 I promise to do the run in my special running outfit. You can see a preview in the photo's attached to this page!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Below is some small print that you may or may not find interesting.
