The Newforge Taggers Tag Rugby Football Club was established in September 2006. It is a Tag Ruby Club for those with learning difficulties and is presently the only club of its type in Ireland.
The club was formed with the full support of the IRFU (Ulster Branch) who are still closely involved with the development of the club. The 'Taggers' are the Junior section of the Police Service of Northern Ireland RFC and take the name Newforge from the home of Police sport in Northern Ireland, Newforge Country Club in Belfast which is where the 'Taggers' are based.
Newforge Taggers are recognised as a charity by HM Revenue and Customs and are affiliated to Mencap.
