Story

Hi

We are Steve Dalton and Steve Murtagh two motorcycle Instructors from Blackpool and Preston who have decided to participate in a round mainland UK Charity ride for the "Help For Heroes" charity, starting on Saturday 3rd April 2010 from the Solaris Centre in Blackpool Tower and finishing there on Friday 9th April. We have had to change it from the Blackpool Tower due to road works and the revamping of the promenade.

Who are we?

Steve Dalton - 27 years Royal Air Force, Driving Standards Agency CBT and DAS Instructor, Advanced Motorcyclist/Instructor and UK National Road Safety Group Practical Instructor, FBOS Medically Certificated.

Steve Murtagh - 33 years British Transport Police Officer, Driving Standards Agency CBT and DAS Instructor, Advanced Motorcyclist/Instructor, FBOS Medically Certificated.

Why are we doing it?

Basically because we want to make a difference to the brave lads and lasses that have served their country and this is the best way for us to raise funding. As well as serving in the RAF, my own son is a serving Combat Medic Technician in the Army and is due to go out to Afganistan on his 2nd tour of duty in Sept/Oct 2009 and Steve Murtagh has worked closely with the Armed Forces during his Police career including IED and Search and Rescue operations.

For those interested Steve Murtagh is the one with the bright yellow Honda Canary, that used to be a Honda Blackbird, he's now known as Bananaman to his mates! Oh and the white thing is his ex Police Bike so will probably get us some respect on the road, just need some orange tape!

The red thing is my LCFC Pan, proud to be an Imp!
