Story
On 28th June 2014, myself and 7 other very (un)able seamen (Raph Berwitz, Rick Cowgill, Edd Cowgill, Ben McDougall, Colin Newell, Dan Smith, and Alex Mills - aka " Team Rat") will be stepping aboard a fine sea worthy vessel, (an ageing wooden whaling tub no doubt), with one goal... to row from Ambleside to Fellfoot and back - a bum numbing, blister guaranteeing 21 miles in total.
They'll be thrills, spills (definitely!) and badly placed blisters on our epic journey, but it's all for an awesome cause - St. Gemma's Hospice, Leeds.
St Gemma's provides specialist medical and nursing care for people with life threatening illnesses, predominantly cancer, along with support for their families, in the In-Patient Unit, by the community care nurses, in the Day Hospice, or as an Out-Patient.
St Gemma's does amazing work, but costs £24,000 per day to run. So if you have any ‘pieces of eight’ that you can spare, please send them this way to help in our cause. Thank you.
