Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
To get the fundraising ball rolling fellow CBT Trainee, Julian Adkins and I cycled from Gartnavel Hospital in Glasgow to Edinburgh and beyond. Well that was the plan: to begin with all went well, we set off early, we picked up NCN 75, then we got lost. Then we got lost again. We did cycle for about five hours and as the sun set over Bathgate we decided to let the train take the strain.
At the end of May, although the wind was blowing from the east it didn't blow too hard and I got round the Edinburgh Half Marathon course in 1hr 36mins and 30secs. It was a great day with the sun breaking through just as I was approaching Musselburgh and really warming up the finishing arena in the afternoon (great for the beer tent not so good for the Marathon runners who'd set off later). Have a look at my photos at #mce_temp_url# and keep donating! I didn't run the whole race with my eyes closed in case you were wondering!!
Well one Half down and two to go, The Great North Run in September and The Aviemore Half in October. If you are going to be near either of these routes it would be great to see you cheering me on, if not you can still cheer me by giving me your sponsorship! I have always found it difficult to choose a charity to support - there are so many deserving and worthy causes - and this year I have chosen a small independant charity based in The Cairngorms that helps people enjoy that beautiful part of the country who would otherwise find it difficult to do so, the Speyside Trust.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
