Well, we did it (just). In 1 hour and 25 minutes we managed to complete 510 lengths. Damian did 178, Robert did 202 and Andy did a very impressive 130 all by breaststroke. We have hit our target of £500 but please give more if you can, it all goes to a very good cause. Time for a rest now I think!

Stirley Community Farm Programme in Huddersfield launched with tremendous local support. Following plenty of hard work Yorkshire Wildlife Trust (YWT) are on the cusp of beginning something really exciting!

YWT were delighted to have been offered a £300,000 grant from Veolia Cre8 Challenge Fund to take forward their plans of restoring the traditional stone barn to create a hub for learning, events and wildlife conservation. To ensure this project is a success YWT need to raise £30,000 of match funding.

To help raise this money three friends have joined together to form the "Stirley Swimmers" and will be taking part in a 1.5 hour swimathon in an attempt to swim 500 lengths (25mtr pool) and to raise £500. The swim will take place on Saturday 14th January 2012 at the Galpharm Stadium Pool in Huddersfield.
