Stok Kangri Summit Trek 2015 · 4 September 2015

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising site. In September 2015 Andy and I will be taking part in our SIXTH Overseas Challenge once again raising much needed funds for the NSPCC and in particular the Now I Know Appeal. Thanks to all of you for your generosity and well wishes for our participation in the Avenue of the Volcanoes challenge in Ecuador in 2013. Our fundraising total ended just short of £11,000 for the NSPCC which is fantastic. This is enough money to train six Childline Counsellors, who will go on to answer thousands of calls from vulnerable children and young people living in the UK. Mt Stok Kangri in the Indian Himalayas, stands at 20,182ft (6,153m) and in order to stand a chance of summiting we will be acclimatising beforehand in the Town of Leh and also by trekking for well over a week above 15,000ft. This is the highest altitude that Andy and I have ever been to (nearly 1,000 ft higher than Kilimanjaro & Cotopaxi) Please spare whatever you can once again for this amazing cause, we literally couldn't do this without you. Thanks in advance, Rachel & Andy xxx
