Story
The Strutt and Parker Charity Challenge 2016 is to support The Sebastian Coe Charitable Foundation supporting Cancer Research. We have set ourselves a target of £200,000 to be raised by our network of offices throughout the country, and we are confident that with the enthusiasm of those in the firm and the support of their friends and contacts, we will succeed to our aim.
The money raised will directly fund The Francis Crick Institute, a cutting edge scientific research centre in St Pancras, London. ‘The Crick’ is due to open in 2016 and will be Europe’s largest and most sophisticated health research centre. Over 1250 of the world’s best scientists will work under one roof conducting
research into tackling all major diseases, and working in the same building
they will foster a collaborative research environment, accelerate the rate of
progress and help translate breakthroughs into positive patient care.
The Crick is co-founded by Cancer Research UK, the Wellcome Trust, the Medical Research Council and London’s leading research universities UCL, King’s and Imperial. It will cost £650m, and Cancer Research UK are the only partner raising their £100m contribution philanthropically. The Sebastian Coe Charitable Foundation has committed to raising £2m of this target for Cancer Research UK and Strutt and Parker is delighted to be supporting such an exciting and vital project. Please help us make the difference!
