Story

Hello!

To help keep alive the memory of Lt John Thornton RM I am competing in two endurance events this year in order to raise funds for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation. For those who don't know, this is a very worthy charity that awards bursaries to aspiring youngsters to help them achieve their dreams and ambitions. More information about the charity can be found at http://www.jtyaf.org/

The first event was the Virgin London Marathon on the 17th April 2011, which was my first ever marathon. This went really well, finishing in a time of 3h39.16

But the real event will be on the 31st July, when I will compete in Ironman UK in Bolton. This is a long distance triathlon, comprising of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle and finally a 26.2 mile run, all within the 17 hour time limit. This will be a very long day, having only competed at half Iron distances so far.
