Virgin London Marathon 2012 · 22 April 2012 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In March 2011 my dad, Alan Attwood, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, a disease which his mum suffered with before him. After such a busy and active working life it seems so cruel.

After watching the marathon this year my friend Paul Cooper called me as he did every year saying we must do it next year, except this time we had a great cause. I had been having the same thought and was glad to have someone by my side.

So we are running in honour of my Dad and in the hope that one day a cure will be found for the horrible disease and in the meantime the Alzheimer's Society can offer support to those who are suffering as well as their carers and family members.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
