Ataxia is a truly awful degenerative illness which slowly saps the body of its normal functions often leaving those unfortunate to be struck down by it with loss of speech, ability to move and total loss of bodily function. Often the brain will be fully functioning thus the emotional pain of enduring the illness is severe, My Mother, Grace,  suffered from Ataxia for a number of years until her death at which point she was bed-ridden with full time professional care 24/7. I am undertaking the physical test of the London to Brighton 100k Endurance Walk both in memory of my Mum and to support the ongoing work of Ataxia UK both in searching for a cure and supporting those suffering from it
