Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 14th of May 2011 I shall once again be attempting the 'Fandance' , I shall be giving my donations to the 'Mark Wright Project', plus 10% to the 'FOC'. The 'Fandance' is an organised walk up the Pen-y-fan, which is the highest mountain in South Wales, standing at 886m.

The Mark Wright Project is named in remembrance of Cpl Mark Wright, GC, who was mortally wounded in Kajaki, Helmand Povince, Afghanistan, on the 6th of September 2006, when he controlled a serious minefield incident in the knowing of how badly injured he was following a series of mine detonations, he died on the rescue helicopter and in December 2006 was, posthumously, awarded the George Cross.

On that incident on the 6th of September 2006 there was 7 casualties (1 death, 3 amputations, 3 blast injuries), there was also many that day who weren't injured BUT may have PTSD or flashbacks of that very day, and the Project is set up to help out the likes of them very soldiers.

Mark Wright was the bravest man I have ever had the pleasure to serve along side, and his citation ends, 'His supreme courage and outstanding leadership were an inspiration to his men. For acts of the greatest gallantry and complete disregard for his own safety in striving to save others, Corporal Wright is awarded the George Cross'

So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you.
