Story
It’s that time again when I do something for charity.
You may recall that my last fundraising was during the first lock down and, in return for your generous donations of over £2,500 for the NHS, I posted my entry to my daughters’ street dance “dad dancing” competition.
This year, at the end of August, I will be taking part in (if my LinkedIn feed is anything to go by) the near ubiquitous three peak challenge. A team of us (most of whom are significantly younger and fitter than I am, and can probably dance better too!) will be walking up (and down, naturally) Ben Nevis, Sca Fell and Snowdon within 24 hours. So that’s 3,000m of ascent over 23 miles with the added bonus of stiffening up in the car journey between hills. So far, my training is going well. I have fallen flat on my backside on the ice at the top of Snowdon and have already lost a toenail off the back of a 19 mile, flat, walk around the Wirral coastline. So, for me, this isn’t going to be a walk in the park by any stretch of the imagination. If your life is insufficiently stimulating, you are welcome to follow my training progress on Strava.
This year we are raising money for Clatterbridge Cancer Research which is a cause dear to my heart as they treated me for cancer nearly 20 years ago.
So, all and any donations gratefully received I appreciate entirely that we aren’t in the easiest of times so if you aren’t able to donate that’s perfectly cool too.
