Bradford City FC Community Foundation is BCFC's dedicated charity. 2010 saw the 25th anniversary of the Bradford Fire (11.05.85). This Appeal raises funds for the Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit, which facilitated the rehabilitation of the victims of the fire, and continues vital research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm running my first ever marathon in York on 8th October and am raising money for the Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit and Macmillan Cancer Support. Any sponsorship you wish to donate will be gratefully received.

I have chosen these charities for very personal reasons. As many of you will know I lost my 11 year old cousin Adrian in the fire at Valley Parade on 11th May 1985 and I would love to give something back to the fantastic people at PSBRU who since that day have been working tirelessly to enhance medical knowledge and clinical technique in the treatment of burns.

This year I also celebrate 5 years of being cancer free following my testicular cancer diagnosis in early 2012. At the time I was so scared but the support of my Macmillan nurse was great and again I want to raise funds for them and give something back.
