Story
Hello there, I'm trying to raise £5,000 for the Alzheimer's Society/Alzheimer Scotland, with a collective goal of £50,000 with a team of colleagues at work. Yes, that is a ridiculous amount. What am I doing? Everything and anything. Suggestions welcome.
Task 1: I'm running the Edinburgh 10km in May. Now, I'm not sporty/athletic/particularly healthy, so I'm not the usual 'I love running and i'm raising money for X charity'. I know its 'only 10km', but its all subjective. I'm going to go through hell doing this. Wish me way more than luck.
The money raised will go towards the Alzheimer's Society 'Live Well' Campaign that aims to teach and support family members who invariably become the primary carer for loved ones who develop the disease.
£100 means a carer can go through 6 hours of the training programme.
£1000 will train a trainer to transform the lives of hundreds of carers.
My employer will be matching £500 of funds raised, so please give generously if you can and remember to tick the gift aid box so that more money can be allocated.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
