Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My friend Alan Armstrong and I have decided to set ourselves a huge challenge in order to raise funds for two excellent charities. We are attempting to run the route of Hadrian's Wall, starting at Carlisle on Saturday 13 October 2012 ,which is 69 miles of very rough terrain. We are aiming to do this in under 15 hours and would welcome any support along the way!
I have seen many examples of the excellent work the the Firefighters Charity carry out during my 19 years at Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service. I would like to raise funds towards this charity in memory of one of our colleagues, Dave Harkin who was passionate about supporting the Firefighters Charity but who sadly passed away aged 36 in 2005.
Alan's first child Aaron was born in November 2011 and has undergone several operations in the Freeman Hospital. They have had amazing support from the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Hospital and we would like to show our thanks by raising funds towards this ward.
