Story

I know it makes me completely mad given my bad knees/joints, but I've always wanted to do the London Marathon and after applying for several years they've finally let me in so on April 21st 2013 you might see me on TV struggling around the course!!

For health reasons I will be walking NOT running the marathon, but I hope you will still sponsor me to raise money for my chosen charity, the HEAL Project.  This charity raises money for those orphaned and made destitute by HIV/AIDs in Zambia, and receives no government help but still manages to feed and school over 300 children as well as helping women and men to raise money and find jobs.  So please dig deep to encourage and support them and me especially as anyone who knows me knows that I am not very fit and quite lazy! ;)

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

The HEAL PROJECT (HIV Empowered and Living) was set up in 1999 by Dr Helen Ayles to help one of her patients Jeannie Mulenga who was sick and had been made destitute through Aids. We now support a school and sewing/carpentry workshops to help those made homeless or orphaned because of Aids.
