Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’m super happy and proud to say I achieved my goal of running the Conwy Half Marathon today, the 20 November 2011. I completed in 2 hours and 20 minutes, and managed to run the whole way; no stopping or walking – yey!!
I’m incredibly grateful to all who have supported me, with your kind words and generous donations. Once I’ve collected all cash donations I’ll put them on here for people to see. I think you’ve helped me to raise around £400.00, which is much more than I’d hoped for!!
For anyone who didn’t see my JustGiving page before, here’s the details:
I would be grateful if you would help me raise money for the Intensive Care Society, which is dedicated to the delivery of the highest quality of critical care to patients in the UK.
It's taken me a while to decide which charity to give to, simply because there are so many worthy causes. For those of you who know me well, you'll understand that initially I thought of raising money for research toward treatment for pancreatic cancer. With time, and with experience working to support patients in critical care, I see there are so very many conditions which cause pain to patients and their families, not just the disease which haunts me. I also see that in critical care units across the country, lives - both young and old, are saved every day. How great is that?
I believe in the work undertaken by critical care staff. I'm privileged to work with inspiring people who work hard to optimise patient care. Equally, I believe in developing research in this area, which the Intensive Care Society/Foundation is dedicated to.
So, how about it then? Gonna help me save some lives?
