Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Everyone taking part has been nominated a soldier who has been killed in action in Afghanistan to bring home the personal tragedy that each death represents. I have just found out that I have been nominated Lance Corporal James Johnson who was 31 when he died after stepping on a mine. See http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7481503.stm for his story.
I will of course think of him as I put my feet one step in front of another to complete my 10km. As always - your generous support is gratefully received - the money will support solidiers and their families in general, rather than the family of the soldier I am representing. But I hope the effort of our school to remember those who have sacrificed their lives will move you to want to support this fundraising effort.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks in advance if you choose to sponsor me.
