Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I must be crazy to run my first (and last!!!) marathon at my age and I'm sure the experience will be both amazing and exhausting. Knowing that I have your support through your donation for Parc will help me to keep going (especially when I hit that wall).

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you so much.

16/02/12 Update - Training is going well despite all the snow that was laying about and I am slightly ahead of my training schedule (which allows a bit of time for any more bad weather). Managed to run 13 miles last weekend which felt amazing despite being exhausted :-)

01/04/12 Update - Three weeks to go and it all seem so real now. Yesterday was my longest training run - 21 miles in 3 hours 40 mins - and it feels great to have that long run 'in the bag'. The training schedule now tapers down until race day on April 22nd and, although very nervous, I am starting to look forward to the actual day.

28/04/12 Update - Well, I managed the whole 26.2 miles last Sunday without stopping or walking and my time was 5 hours 3 minutes and 45 seconds :-) It was one of the toughest things I've ever done in my life but totally amazing at the same time. The atmosphere and crowds were unbelievable - the support & encouragement from total strangers was incredibly moving and gives you such a boost to keep going even when it hurts!!! Thanks also to everyone who has supported me through sponsorship. Knowing I had your support helped me through that wall.

Thanks again for reading my page - I hope you feel able to donate to this wonderful charity. Thanks for your support.
