Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 20 September I will be participating in the Great North Run, my first half marathon and hopefully not my last! I have been training for months and two things that have kept me going are my very good friend Maggie, who has and continues to run every step of the way with me, and my ultimate goal; an opportunity to raise some money for a charity very close to my heart: The County Air Ambulance Trust. There can be no doubt that after an accident or the onset of serious illness, speed of response is crucial. The sooner expert medical attention can be given to the patient the better chance there is of saving life and ensuring a better long term outlook. The Air Ambulance responds rapidly to ensure that medical attention is given as quickly as possible whilst transporting the patient to the most suitable treatment centre for their needs. The cost of operating this vital service is met solely by voluntary contributions.
Living in rural Worcestershire the Air Ambulance is a regular sight as it flies to and from its base at Strensham. Its service has touched the lives of both family members and very close friends and it is for this reason that I want to do my bit to help keep the service flying. Running the Great North Run, with your support, will help me to achieve this very personal goal.
