The PACE Centre - It's Challenge Time 2009 · 31 December 2009 ·

We want every child in the UK with a neurodisability like cerebral palsy - and their families - to have access to learning and life changing therapy, aligned with our Pace approach. Our specialist clinical, education and therapy teams work with babies, children & young people from 0-18.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am proud to be taking part in a challenge to support The PACE Centre.

PACE is a charity located in Aylesbury, which provides education, support and development for children with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy.

Please feel free to visit The PACE Centre's website in order to learn more about PACE - www.thepacecentre.org

The PACE children have been taking part in the 'Children's Challenge'.  For children with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, even simple tasks can be their 'Mount Everest'.  The Children's Challenge stars PACE children as young as three.  They will seek to master for the first time a key skill such as taking their first independent steps.

My Challenge is to face my fear of snakes at the 'Bugs and Creepy Crawlies Challenge' on 5 December!  There will be a 'Jungle Roadshow' of reptiles and invertebrate.  The challenge provides an opportunity to encounter creatures such as snakes, geckos, big stick insects and giant millipedes.  There will also be venomous creatures such as tarantulas and scorpions (but due to the danger, we will not be handling these!)

Having witnessed some of the challenges and achievements the PACE children have overcome, I am determined to face my fear of snakes and am preparing myself for this significant personal challenge (despite the nightmares!).

I am truly grateful for any support you can offer to The PACE Centre by providing a sponsorship donation for my forthcoming challenge.

Your sponsorship money will go towards a collective event target of £70,000 - enough money to find vital Outreach and Follow-up services for the whole of 2010.  This money means PACE can help hundreds of children with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy become active and independent members of their community now and into the future.

Thank you.
