**UPDATE** - We have successfully completed the challenge in 23 hours and 35 mins!! It was seriously tough, but unbelievably rewarding. We all completed within 10 minutes of each other. I am simply amazed by the donations that have been received, and thank you very much for this! And now for the next challenge...........

Together with a team of work colleagues, I am aiming to complete the National 3 Peaks Challenge in 24 hours on 4th September 2010. We are starting at Ben Nevis in Scotland, then drive down and climb up Scafell Pike in the Lake District; we shall then set off to Wales to combat Snowdon - all this in 24 hours!
Yes, I know what you are thinking, "What on Earth have I let myself into"?! Well, the Special Care Baby Unit at Darent Valley hospital provides first class care for babies in need of additional care following birth. In what is an emotional and scary time for parents, SCBU gives parents comfort in knowing that their baby(ies) is(are) being given the best possible help in their young lives.
Having witnessed their wonderful dedication and professionalism and in the knowledge of knowing that an incubator alone can cost £12,000, this motivated me to make a difference - and instead of donating by simply digging into my pocket, I thought I'd climb three mountains and help generate even more for this very special cause!
My aim is to raise at least £500, anything more will be a wonderful bonus!
